Sewing Machine Introduction Workshop
Get to know your Sewing Machine on our comprehensive one day workshop. Designed to introduce you to your sewing machine, learn how to use it and build your skills. Our teacher can tailor certain parts to your requirements.
You will learn:
- How your machine works, which needles & feet to use.
- How to wind bobbins, how to thread and which thread to use.
- Different stitched and where to use them.
- Make piping and attach zips.
What’s included:
You will have the use of a comprehensive tools and equipment, needles, basic thread and zips including practice fabric.
What you need:
You will need your own sewing machine, though there are some machines that can be used if your don’t have your own machine.

This one day workshop runs 9.30 till 4.30, with plenty of time to learn and practice your skills so you can get the best from your machine.
We will have various materials that are required available to purchase.
£135.00 for one day, or combine this into a 2 day workshop to include Cushion Making, for just £250.
Your tutor will be Clova Townhill, an experienced seamstress and restorer of vintage sewing machines.
Workshops are limited to 4 participants to ensure each student gets the help and attention needed they get the best from the workshop.

Cushion Making Workshop
Learn how to add your own style to your home with our one day cushion workshop. Designed to give you the skills and knowledge to confidently make cushions at home.
You will learn:
- How to sew zips, buttons and piping.
- Different ways to create cushion covers.
- How to measure, size and cut fabric.
- Advice and guidelines for choosing fabric.
What’s included:
You will have the use of a comprehensive tools and equipment, needles, thread, zips and cushion insert, including a choice of a variety of fabric.
What you need:
You will need your own sewing machine, though there are some machines that can be used if your don’t have your own machine. Bring your own fabric if you’ve got something your particularly want to use.

£175.00 for one day. or combine this into a 2 day workshop to include Sewing Machine Essentials, for just £250.
